When respected builder, Lynbrook of Annapolis, was engaged to build this 10,000-square-foot waterfront residence, they requested that the architect, McAlpine, have McCon Engineering handle the structural design. This unique project called for long floor spans and unobstructed views of the Chesapeake Bay from the covered porch, so we designed a series of cantilevered steel beams to support the porch roof without the usual columns.
